Full Circle: Chaplains Starting Churches!

chaplain

From 1995 to 2009, our Bible school network planted several churches in different countries.  During that time we also started River of Life Church where we pastored for many years. We decided to end our involvement with the church so that we could focus on evangelism and discipleship

in and through the school systems.  Now, in 2014, we are closing the circle by returning to church planting.

Using the schools in our program as a base, we will start with 35 chaplains with plans to train an additional 115!  In essence, these school chaplains will become school counselors and pastors.  In most cases this will create an instant congregation of at least 200 people. Once a chaplain gets established, he will begin outreaches to the surrounding community using the school building as a place to hold weekend worship services.

After three years of looking for someone or some group to lead this initiative, the Lord has brought forth a faithful servant in Bolivia — Carlos Sanchez.  Carlos has been very successful in leading our short-term mission teams and has worked alongside me in many trusted positions for over 16 years.

This letter is a petition for prayer.  We need the wisdom promised by the Lord and we need His mindset in this endeavor. And we need partners like you to financially support Carlos and his family as they launch this new church-planting mission. Lastly, we need prayer as we create the training material and begin to equip these chaplains to reach their communities with the Gospel of Jesus.  Thank you for your prayers!  What an exciting time we get to live in!
