My Dad, My Superhero

As a child, I thought my dad was a superhero who could fix everything and do anything. While I now realize that may not be the most accurate view, I still think the world of my dad and know that he would do anything in his power to keep me safe. I remember one time I was trying to show off by doing a front flip into a pool. I slammed my head on the side of the pool and got disoriented, but before I even realized what had happened, my dad was there scooping me up and putting an ice pack on my head.

More than a decade later as I was moving out of my final college house, my dad took time out of his schedule to come and help me pack up and clean out the house. And let me tell you, that was no easy feat. After a long tiring day, we ended it by celebrating at our personal favorite daddy daughter date spot, Chick-Fil-A. My dad has always been my biggest fan, and I am so thankful for the way he has loved me so well. My dad has always put Christ first in our family, and has modeled for me what a relationship with Christ looks like. From McDonald’s breakfast on the way to kindergarten to Chick-Fil-A dates as I move out of college, my dad has been a steady constant. His consistency has shown me how our Heavenly Father loves us so well and is always there for us.
