To the Moms that Can Do Everything

By: Madeline Berryhill

A few weeks ago, I got married and it was the best day ever. Before I got married, I spent a lot of time in reflection over the life I lived at home with my parents. I was blown away by all the sweet memories that came rushing to my brain as my time living at home was beginning to end. The day before my wedding was my mom’s birthday. I created a post on social media to honor her and all that she had done for my wedding and throughout my entire life. This is what I said:

“Happy birthday to the best mom EVER! This sweet lady has been going above and beyond to make my wedding day everything I could want it to be and she has exceeded any hope I could’ve had!!! Every ounce of beautiful seen at the ceremony and reception is because of her creativity, dedication and thoughtfulness! She’s given her all to this wedding and EVERY season of my life. I owe so much thanks to her and am grateful that somehow this servant-hearted, joyful, loving mama is mine!!! Today is her day (even though she’ll try act like it’s not!) If you see her, give her the biggest hug and tell her she’s incredible!”

I meant every word I said in that post on her birthday and could have written so much more. Without my mom, my wedding day would not have been as incredible as it ended up being. Without my mom, I would not be the woman I am today. She is the definition of loving unconditionally, serving without ceasing and never taking time with her children for granted. I hope to be half the mother she is to me some day. Who I am, I owe to who my mom is and I know so many of us out there feel that way about out mothers. Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there making us daughters and sons so immensely grateful!
