International Children’s Book Day!

Yesterday was International Children’s Book Day! April 2 has been coined as a day to celebrate reading and literacy for children.

The reason this holiday is observed on April 2 is because April 2 is Hans Christian Anderson’s birthday. Hans Christian Anderson was a Danish author who wrote many famous works. His most famous include: The Little Mermaid, The Emperor’s New Clothes, The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, and many more.

Here at Mission Generation, we love the us of children’s books to help bring Jesus to the classroom to show children their identity and Savior.

Reading is a great way to spark imagination and help children develop comprehension and grammar skills, as well as many other things. With the world pushing screens in front of us from all direction, setting aside time to relax and read a book can be a calming activity in the midst of this crazy life.

We encourage you all to take a break from the busyness and read a book with your children today. What are some of y’all’s favorite children’s books to read with your children?
