The National Education Association started this holiday that is celebrated on Dr. Seuss’ birthday each year to promote reading every day. The NEA offers a wide variety of resources for teachers and parents to make reading fun and more enjoyable for the kiddos.
The day was first celebrated on March 2, 1998 when members of the NEA came together to create a day to celebrate reading. Just as pep rallies are held to get kids excited about sports, an assembly can get children excited about reading.
Here at Mission Generation, we understand the importance of making reading fun and enjoyable for kids. Our goal is to bring Jesus to the classroom and help students understand their true valuethrough our textbooks. We fully support Read Across America day, and encourage everyone to do something special with their kiddos to celebrate!
