Going About it the Wrong Way

“Mission Generation textbooks are great for developing mental and emotional maturity. This book has taught me the benefits of having good morals and living by them which has helped me overcome my behavioral problems.

I use to think acting recklessly would make me popular and that I would have a lot of friends. My popularity was short lived and I realized that my friends were not there for me and encouraged me to do bad things. Because I was trying to be cool I didn’t do my homework and I failed two years of high school. I can’t help but think about where I might be if only I had been applying myself at school. It’s a humbling experiences to be 20 years old and still in high school when I should already have 2 years of college under my belt.

Although I am ashamed of the person I use to be I am grateful to get a high school education no matter what age I am and I am grateful for the Mission Generation textbooks for having taught me to live a better life. The principles that mean the most to me are: respect, sympathy and partnership. These topics were helpful to me because the book showed real life examples of how to earn respect, be sympathetic and build a partnership. This is exactly what I wanted and I thought I would get from behaving bad but the book helped me realize I was going about it the wrong way. In my opinion the book has had a huge positive impact on me. The message I would give people my age is to consider and reflect on the mistakes we make and turn to love, which is the main principle of all.”
