My name is Bella and I came to Panama with the Maranatha high school mission group. It has been amazing experience to see God not only change the lives of others but my life as well. Two of my favorite moment were after I shared my testimony in the class. In one class a young boy (11) began to cry after our testimonies and told us that recently his family had begun to split up. He told us that the testimonies my friend Eden and I gave really reassured him that even when his family was broken and they were no longer there for him, he would always have a friend in Jesus.
We went into another class where the kids were my age or a little older so I had an opportunity to share some of the darker times I went through. There was only one girl in the class and when I began to share about when I struggled with depression and how it was God who helped me out of my dark days she began to cry. Although she didn’t really want to tell us her story I was amazed how God was able to take such a horrible time in my life to reach the heart of another girl who was likely struggling with the same thing.”
