Meet Lacey Gracce Cañizarez Vargas. She started working at the Julio Aurelio B school two months ago. Though it has only been two months, she has considered working as a chaplain to be a beautiful experience. She loves sharing within the field of counseling the love of Christ. It makes her sad realizing that there are not enough people doing the work that she does in the school system. She wishes more people had the opportunity to be exposed to the love of Christ through the chaplaincy program.
In the school she works at, there are many behavioral problems that hold students back from reaching their full potential. For example, there are students choosing to have an active sex life at too young an age. She says that there are young girls who have spent extra time in counseling to cope with the variety of ways they have been abused. Though it is hard sometimes, Lacey knows that God is supporting her through the many challenges she faces as a counselor. She would like to thank pastor Nicky González and Mission Generation for giving her the opportunity to work as a chaplain.
