Star Volunteer

By: Madeline Dunham

We are fortunate enough here at Mission Generation to have incredible volunteers who choose to spend their time serving the mission of our organization. In Norman, Oklahoma, we get to work with Sherri Corbett on a weekly basis. Sherri is originally from Frederick, Oklahoma, but after many transitions, she finally settled in Oklahoma City in 1994. Sherri has two ADORABLE grandchildren. Her granddaughter, Paisley is seven years old. Her grandson, James is only seven weeks old. She loves to spend time with her grandchildren as any loving grandmother would!

Additionally, Sherri has attended Victory Family Church in Norman for the past three years. She loves the fellowship at Victory Family Church and she trusts that the pastor is speaking truth into the lives of all the people that attend. To our surprise, one of Sherri’s favorite things to do is spend time at amusement parks. She is a big fan of roller coasters! If you ever want to spend a day at Frontier City with someone, she is your gal! Also, if you ever want some delicious Mexican food, or steak from Cattleman’s, I know Sherri would happily join you.

She has been a part of the Mission Generation family since 2013 when she attended a barbeque fundraising event. At the event, she became hooked on the organization and began giving financially. She has enjoyed many events over the last five years! Giving back to the community is something she is passionate about and it shows in the ways she chooses to spend her time. A little less than a year ago, Sherri transitioned out of a part time job and asked how she could volunteer her time with Mission Generation. Ever since she asked, Sherri has been volunteering her time in the Norman office Tuesday and Thursday. Sherri focuses mostly on the donor side of Mission Generation. She does data entry to ensure that all donor information is kept organized and up to date.

Sherri is an incredible individual and we love getting to hear her speak about her passions:

I love being on board with something I believe in—I want to be a small part of something great happening in the world.”

We love you, Sherri!
